The infinite free fall initiated by the forces of massless gravity - a real-time, video game based ceremony - delves into ritual as a state of mind outside the expression of a particular faith. Thrown into the turbulence of the virtual wind, a disembodied "Player 1" introduces an aimless act set in a goal-oriented environment. Absent of destination, the gesture evades finality, yet remains caught in a constant state of anticipation.
Installation text by Malu Serafim:
“Who am I to tell you what to do, me who commanded you not to speak, but at the same time I've been the one listening.
I created a safety net strong enough to hold me. Maybe it was because I appreciated the falling and being held at the same time. There's a certain faculty on embellishing your safety, spend time with it, maybe if you pause it for long enough you will power its engine, it will float to the time of the extinct forest, the time that bends into spirals and forms hoops.
The wind asked us to create a circle, connecting a history of binding processes but placing us separately. The more systems we created the more silent we were, and the more constant and silent surroundings became, stuck beyond time, yet our mind laid arrest.”
