Skintight is a temporal sculpture of a fabric that no longer fits the structure it was sewn for. Over the course of the exhibition, the piece unfolds through slow, irreversible deformation as the weight that causes it is simultaneously leaving the fabric.
Hung on a metal frame, the textile carries sewn-in pockets of water that surrender it to gravity, pulling it steadily away from its original form. The same gravitational force that stretches the material draws the water away, drop by drop — leaving the distorted fabric as the memory of a load that is no longer there.
